Phone nuber clicks

Hi, I am new to Matomo and need help.
Is there any way to see clicks on the phone number on the web page?
I tried to add Goal

when visitors → Click on a Link to an external website → contains → tel:

but it seems it is wrong because no phone clicks are not registered in Goals
Please help

Hi,

I am not sure that tel: protocol is considered by Matomo as external website (to be tested)…
Also, if I am not wrong, the contain operator works on the text of the link, not on the href…
But you can either work on a pattern (“matches the expression”) on the phone number, or add an event on the phone click and use this event to trigger the goal…

Check first in the Visitors > Real-time menu to see if your events are tracked…

Do you use QueueTracking plugin?

to me it looks like everything fires as it should in MTM. All I can think of is (sorry, it’s a bit “stupid”):

Your variable “Matomo Configuration” contains “idSIte=2”. That’s where your events are going to. Is that the correct one?
Did you set the correct date in your Matomo where you check your events? A date without recorded events would look like the screenshot you provided (https://nimb.ws/0kFIzJ)
You have a problem with archiving or as Philippe suggested with some kind of queue or something that prevents your correctly fired events to be processed (and displayed).

so you have some other tag correctly creating events? Looks like scroll percentage…

if you click event category or action, do you see only the same (percentage) events?

you configured your tag to have {{ClickDestinationUrl}} as your event name. your data layer shows "tel:***360094" as the value for it. so it looks correct and should work. very far-fetched guess: maybe that string with the *** is a problem? can you try and replace that with some simple string like "test"? and fire some tags?

Could you show:

the HTTP console log of your browser, filtered on the Matomo server,
the browser console of your browser

when doing:

scroll (in order to trigger the scroll event)
phone click (in order to trigger the phone click event)

Also, could you check in the Apache / PHP / Matomo access log (and also error log) if you see both HTTP requests (hits for scroll event and phone click event)

I wonder if there isn’t any kind of firewall between your browser and the Matomo server that could kill the phone tracking request…
