Where is my visitor's information?

I am just wondering how Matomo save all my visitor’s information? In a database or on my own server?

I found it in MySQL. But can I use other database like Oracle or MongoDB? In Matomo’s code, is it restricted to MySql?

Currently Matomo only supports MySQL (or MariaDB).
