Very slow performance due to timeout on plugins.matomo.org?

Hi,
about a week ago, my matomo installation started to be extremely slow. I looked around a lot in order to understand the issue: archiving works well, no cpu overload, even netstat gives almost a “flat” situation (in fact, I’m monitoring very low traffic websites).

But right now I saw a request in 500 status. I’m writing issue here as the response suggests that:

**Error:** /var/www/matomo/core/Http.php(622): Warning - file_get_contents(https://plugins.matomo.org/api/2.0/plugins/FormAnalytics/info?release_channel=latest_stable&prefer_stable=1&piwik=5.1.1&php=8.2.23&mysql=8.0.39-0ubuntu0.20.04.1&num_users=3&num_websites=6): Failed to open stream: Connection timed out - Matomo 5.1.1 - Please report this message in the Matomo forums: https://forum.matomo.org (please do a search first as it might have been reported already)

Is maybe that the root cause of the slow performance? Is there any issue with plugins domain?

Thank you,
Andrea

Hi @dorje
It seems your problem comes from the Form Analytics premium plugin. Then you can reach the support team by email.

Hi @heurteph-ei, thank you for your reply.

The strange thing is that I don’t use the Form Analytics premium plugin (and I don’t see it in the Plugin Managment section). In fact, yesterday there were also other requests failing - all on the same third level domain “plugins”.

In any case - today the problem vanished. All is loading smoothly now.

If someone read that thread and fixed something then… Thank you.

Hi @dorje ,

Glad to hear the issue is sorted.

That timeout could be causing the slowdown if Matomo keeps trying to reach the plugins API. You could try disabling plugin updates or checking connectivity to that domain to see if it helps.
