URL Shortener plugin for Piwik - user feedback request

Hello everybody.

I would like to share with you a plugin for Piwik which converts your Piwik instance into a URL shortener.

Today I was able to release a 0.4.2 version to Plugin Market, also available on Github GitHub - mgazdzik/plugin-ShortcodeTracker: Piwik plugin allowing user to create shortcodes and track their usage within Piwik. Also integrates with UI to deliver more user-friendly interaction. .

As for now I’ve spent some time developing and testing locally, but I’m also looking for some community feedback and hopefully tests on working instance.

Therefore - if anybody is interrested in testing/reviewing this plugin - any feedback is warmly welcome.

Cheers!

Hi Michal,

This is nice to hear of your new plugin to create and track shortcodes with Piwik!

I’m sure many users will enjoy it. It’s freely available @ http://plugins.piwik.org/ShortcodeTracker

@mgazdzik Super per excited to find this, then not so when it seems its for Piwik v2.

I wondered if anyone had managed to get it to work in v3.x?

Thanks in advance

Thanks @Lukas  I posted there a couple of days ago, but wasn’t sure if the dev was still around to update.

Real pity, as I was stoked to use my piwik as a url shortener for my industry posts too.

Ah, didn’t see that the comment was by you.

Maybe someone wants to fork and modify the plugin…

Lets hope so, as sadly thats beyond my current skills

@Lukas is there anyone in Piwik who is inclined to take a look, knowing the changes made between v2 and v3 of piwik?

Hi,

There is an manual on how to upgrade plugins from 2.x to 3.x, so if anyone has time and interested it shouldn’t be that much work:

https://developer.piwik.org/guides/migrate-piwik-2-to-3

Hi guys, just wanted to leave a word that plugin has been updated to work with 3.x version so if anybody is interested please feel free to test it and leave a note here or on github repo

Cheers!

Hi @mgazdzik,

Minor issue: Move the setup and usage paragraphs either to a ### or to /docs/index.md

As otherwise only the first paragraph is visible here and setup gets confusing:

@Lukas thanks a lot am looking to use it on my website Tinypost will inform you if any bug detected

Hi!
I’d like to ask if someone have tested this plugin.
Could this feature work as a polr replacement?

Any experience you could share with this plugin?

Thanks
