Upgrade 4.12.1 --> 4.12.2 bricked our matomo

when upgrading from 4.12.1 to 4.12.2 I got the “An error occurred” page and now all I get when loading anything in matomo is a text saying this:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8589934592 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) in /var/www/vhosts/my.domain.com/httpdocs/plugins/CorePluginsAdmin/PluginInstaller.php on line 47 Matomo encountered an error: Allowed memory size of 8589934592 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) (which lead to: Circular dependency detected while trying to resolve entry 'Piwik\Plugins\CorePluginsAdmin\Controller')

any ideas how to solve that?

well, before posting here I tried this: After I updated Matomo, it stopped working (blank page, widgets not loading, error message, etc.). How can I fix this? FAQ - Analytics Platform - Matomo
but it didnt help.

since i was desperate I copied the files again, this time using SSH instead of FTP - and that worked. Don’t know what I messed up first time. But hey, it’s solved.

(I leave this post here because maybe it helps somebody.)
