Understanding Pageviews and Uniqueviews with Date Range

I have installed PIWIK on our internal blog and it seems the unique views exceeds the total number of employees when the date range is by month, for example, the month of April.

Am I understanding this correctly:

Pageviews -

Day 1 - if one person reloads the page two times - Pageviews = 2
Day 2 - if the same person reloads the page two times - Pageviews = +2 = 4 pageviews

Unique Pageviews

Day 1 - if one person reloads the page two times - Unique Pageviews = 1
Day 2 - if the same person reloads the page two times - Unique Pageviews = 1+0 = 1 Unique Pageviews

Date Range: Month
4 pageviews
1 Unique Pageview

anyone here knows the answer?

Hi there,

Unique view when looking at Month period, is the sum of the Unique views of days. this explains that number of unique views can be higher than number of unique visitors on this page.

Hi Matt!

Thank you for the Piwik!

Please, tell me, is it possible to track unique pageviews for pages or page titles by weeks? At least for finite set of pages, i.e. 1-2 portal’s part?
How we can configure Piwik to get this statistics?
Or, may be, it is possible to obtain this statistics by PHP coding?

Best regards,
Denis
