We would like to develop an add-in for Piwik to allow tracking of JavaScript links. We want to use this to track clicks on social network sharing buttons on a Joomla 1.5 site. Some suggestions or documentation on the basic strategy to do this would be very helpful.

Do you already have the social network sharing buttons implemented?

I had a similar idea in http://dev.piwik.org/trac/ticket/370 – but didn’t get far with it. (Too busy with core.)
