Tracking an Internal Intranet on external hosted Piwik?

I would like to track an internal intranet using Piwik. However I would like to host Piwik on an external hosting service.
Will this cause a problem tracking visitors accurately?
Can I set

[Tracker]
trust_visitors_cookies = 1

And force piwik to count vistis based on the cookie ?
Is there anything else I should worry about ?

I’m trying to do the same thing and it doesn’t seem to be working. I installed Piwik on my host and verified that it can track a website, in this case, my domain: http://billcawley.com. It’s working for that site.

I also setup my company’s intranet as a separate site, the URL is something like: http://lwa-sp/sites/mycompany/engineering/AsBuilts

It doesn’t seem to work. Note that the intranet URLs are not fully formed with a .com or .org, they’re just server names. I’m accessing them both from the same machine and browser - I tried the config file cookie tracker update, no change.

Any ideas?

Now it’s working. I didn’t change anything, just went home for the night and when I came back this morning it was working. :slight_smile:

Next I need to get a custom variable working for username but that’s another topic…
