Track a specific page view over time

I wnat to be able to see how many visitors have been to a specific page, and how that has changed over time.

Is the only way of doing this is to either; set-up a goal, or set-up javascript tarcking? The issue I have with both of these methods is that it only works from the time it is set.

With our Intranet I often like to look a specific page (or group of pages) and see what the trends have been for usage.

What is the best way of doing this?

Currently the best way is to use Goals for each page, which is not ideal.
