Still track general page visits if someone declines tracking from the Complianz Wordpress plugin?

If i create a custom Segment with Profilable=0 and using Complianz on Matamo for Wordpress the segment is empty. Will I then only get page visits from users which opted in for cookies? Clicking accept on the Complianz banner? Is there a mode where I can get the best of the two worlds. Those people which said no, then matamo will not track any individual(not create a user or cookies which can be tied to one person) but still get general page visits etc?

Edit: People which said Accept on the cookie banner will still be tracked as per usual as is now.

So is the tag manager what i Need to use to be able to do this? If a user declines statistics I get only “basic” pageviews. Will that be possible? Even if they have not accepted or denied cookies I could still track page visits but not anything which can be tied to the person.

For the record. I am based in Sweden in the EU.

Hi there,

It sounds like you are wanting “Adaptive Tracking” cookie-less tracking when a user denies consent and to use cookies if the user accepts consent.

We do have guides on how to do this with Matomo and Complianz, this can be achieved with tag manager or the standard JS tracker.

Please find these guides below:

Standard JS Tracker: https://matomo.org/faq/how-to/using-complianz-for-wordpress-consent-manager-with-matomo/

Tag Manager: https://matomo.org/faq/tag-manager/integrate-complianz-for-wordpress-cmp-with-matomo-tag-manager/
