Set up multiple sites using just one container

Hi!

We are starting to test Matomo just to see if we can get rid of Google Analytics. But as far as installation and set up is going well, the problem is when we are trying to add several sites.

We added a container code for all sites in our CMS (name it, container of siteid 1), and then use it as the container for the next siteids to come: 2, 3, …n.

I still didn’t figure out how to setup siteid 1 container for siteid 2. I tried with export and import Tag manager container, but then I just can select default container for installation.

Can someone give me a hint or a clue to go on with that, please? Thank you very much!

It is possible to use the same container across different siteIDs, this involves creating a ‘lookup’ variable to handle the different siteIDs.
