Restrict tracking by country

Hi all,

I’m new to Matomo and cannot find this answer in any of there docs. The site I want to track is available to users in several different countries however I would like to track specifically the U.S. I saw there’s a way to restrict based on IP address range however that is too big the undertaking for an entire country. Is it possible to prevent data tracking by country?

Hi,

You could create a segment to only see the results filtered by one country.
Or you could create a simple plugin that during tracking takes the GeoIP result and aborts if it isn’t the country you want to record (of course keep in mind that GeoIP isn’t perfect)
