Resetting Passwords?

I don’t know if this is a feature or a bug. When I click on “forgot password” on the login page, I have the option to change the password if I know the username or the user’s email address. There is no email with a link to reset the password. This means that the password is useless. If anybody can change a password, the username or email address has actually the same function as the password. I checked on all my installations…
Am I crazy?

When I tried to save the changed password, I got the same error as in this thread:

https://forum.matomo.org/t/cant-login-to-piwik-form-security-failed/3940

but it is on an installation where I was able to log in without problems in the past…

Hi,

It seems to be working correctly for me. The password isn’t changed with that form, but it sends an E-Mail with an Reset-Link.

grafik

Ah. OK, thank you. I was expecting an email with a reset link first (that’s how most sites work). Unfortunately I wasn’t able to test it because of the cookies/proxy error message.

But it’s good to know that I have only 1 problem and not 2. :slightly_smiling_face:
Cheers
