We are discussing also with our client how to replace Addthis. We are suggesting them to create a custom development for social media sharing buttoms and to use Matomo for analytics.
Regarding this post, it is not clear for me how to measure the same metrics as Addthis have.
We have to create campaigns to do it? or We have to track any event? How could we do it?
As @RonanChardonneau mentioned on IRC this should be easily possible either with a bit of custom JS using event tracking or if you want to use Tag Manager completely without any code:
