Just wondering, is there any sort of threshold you guys have noticed for Piwik becoming sluggish when tracking a lot of sites? For instance, my installation is currently tracking about 2000+ sites (all added through the API). At least half of them aren’t active at all and I don’t think there are any that are heavily active.
I’m just trying to figure out if that’s a lot of sites to track and if I should do some cleaning-up and curb additions. Thanks!
We haven’t officially done tests like this, but Piwik should behave correctly for few thousands websites with small or medium number of visits. Please report if you experience issues. Also, if you would like to tell us more about your use case, please contact us at hello at piwik.org
