I’m not able to test Piwik against MySQL 5.0.45 (released July 2007). Community edition 5.0.51 seems stable for many users.
The latest in the 5.0.x series is MySQL 5.0.91 (released May 2010). However, in December 2009, MySQL 5.0.x reached its end-of-life and is no longer actively developed.
With regards to the “filter” error, we’ll need more info. Do you have a stack trace in your web server logs? What version of php? What plugins were installed? Which widgets were affected?
Finally updated our server to the newest php & mysql-versions.
Afterwards update from Piwik 0.5.5 >>> 1.1.1 without any major problems.
