Piwik still tracking after deleting tracking code

Hello,

my problem is that I deleted the tracking code form my website but piwik (v 2.13.1) is still receiving data from visitors. Not as many as before ± 1000 before now abaout 6 a day.

I’m wondering how that can happen. Might there be a cached version on the visitor side?

Are you certain that you have deleted the tracking code from all of your pages? If a visitor has visited a page, then there should be a record of which page he has visited. Examine that page for overlooked tracking code.

Yes, I’m sure the code is deleted, It is not in the page source code or any loaded JS-File on any page including those shown in piwik.

Could it be that the period that you are viewing contains data that has already been tracked, and that you are viewing old data. Try changing the reporting period to test the hypothesis.

We have this problem aswell and I’m pretty sure the users that are getting tracked have the site cached with the tracking code.
