Piwik robots.txt and .htaccess

i noticed after installing piwik that there is a robots.txt and a .htaccess file included in the piwik folder.

question: should i be removing these files from the piwik directory? my robots file is pretty tight, i am just wondering what are the advantages of this - if any?

Feel free to remove them. (I believe they’re empty.)

i did remove those file from my piwik dir, seeing as they were blank.

also, the logical thing to do was disallow spiders from accessing my piwik dir…

seemed like common sense to me.
