Piwik re-install not working

Sorry to add to the already giant wave of threads, but I couldn’t find a solution to this. :frowning:

Effectively, on one of the sites I help with, Piwik was running fine. Then, the site was migrated to a new server and we received the below error:

There was nothing in the errorlog, and according to the Webhost, the PHP service was restarted. No luck, the error remained. I then deleted the install, hoping to reinstall Piwik and link it back to the database and I get this error now:

I’m stuck now, I’m not sure what’s causing this. :frowning:

hi BrettLP, is your Piwik install with, Piwik, PHP, and mySQL all on the same server? Please provide the installation topology.

Hi there,

Can you try upgrade your Piwik to the latest beta version? I would like to test early beta and RC releases, how do I enable automatic updates to use these development versions? - Analytics Platform - Matomo
this issue should be fixed!

Hi Matt,

I uploaded the beta version of Piwik (2.14.0-b9), overwriting the other one, and I am still getting the same issue, the screen doesn’t load (so I can’t configure the install).

Hi Roger,

SQL, Piwik and PHP are all together on the same server.

At the moment, I’m trying to get the install process working, so I can then point Piwik to the existing SQL tables. However, I’m not having luck getting it reinstalled.

Hi there,

Oh that’s surprising. Can you please check your server error log and copy here all piwik errors? feel free toalso create a bug report directly at: Issues · matomo-org/piwik · GitHub
