Piwik not rendering in chrome or IE

When i try and load piwik in Chrome, i only get a blank white page, no errors. In IE, I receive a 500 internal server error. PHP 5.4.24 and latest version of piwik downloaded today.

Any ideas?

Hi there. please look at your server error log file and then look int he FAQ for the answer.

or: I would like to test early beta and RC releases, how do I enable automatic updates to use these development versions? - Analytics Platform - Matomo

thanks a lot. I used latest files with old database and it works again!

I had the same issue when upgrading from 2.8.0 to 2.9.1.

The solution for me was to manually upgrade first to 2.8.1, then 2.8.2, then 2.8.3, then 2.9.0 and finally 2.9.1.

Everything seemed to work fine after that.
