Piwik 1.9 Beta Version Testing! Amazing new feature!

Dear Piwik community,

We would like to invite you to try and use the latest Piwik 1.9 beta release!

The final release will be done in a about 3 weeks, but in the meantime we’ve already worked on some great things including a new feature, called “Transitions” which shows how visitors arrive to a given page (internal pages, websites, campaigns, etc) and where do they go from this page.

We are very interested in your feedback about the new Transitions feature: do you understand how to use it? is it useful? is there any way we can make it better?

Download the latest Piwik 1.9 here: http://builds.piwik.org/?C=N;O=D

To update, simply upload / overwrite all existing files and then visit your Piwik. It contains a small database upgrade. See also: How to update Piwik (doc)

Check out the list of closed tickets for this release for more bug fixes and new features: tickets fixed in this release.

Please post any issue or question in this post, thank you for your help testing!!

Example Screenshot of Transitions on the homepage of Piwik.org:
http://dev.piwik.org/trac/raw-attachment/ticket/3332/Web%20Analytics%20Reports%20-%20piwik.org%20-%20Over%201%20year%20-%20took%2020s%20to%20generate.png

After the update, I had to enable the Transitions plugin.

I’ve upgraded from 1.8.4 to 1.9-b5 and cannot get icon triggering “Transitions” to appear. Transitions plugin is enabled, also bugfixes e.g. Row Evolution regression, broken for reports other than actions · Issue #3381 · matomo-org/matomo · GitHub work fine, about says “Piwik 1.9-b5” - I’m not sure whether this could be something related to db upgrade, as I didn’t get any upgrade progress/status as usually; it just loaded a little bit longer and then just showed dashboard.

cheers

Hi,

since hours the dev.piwik.org site seems to be down.

rgds.

mstenz

Transitions did not work for me. Does it only work when their is a group of pages?

what do you mean it doesnt work? Did you enable the Plugin Transitions?

Yes I enabled the plugin. I now realize the issue. You need to give time for the calculations to show up before you see the icon.

After upgrading to Piwik 1.9-b6 problem had gone and it works fine on my side.

@matt - Can i see demo? is it available on demo.piwil.org?

I enabled the plugin. I now realize the issue too

I think you need to give it some time, my transitions data did not show up first either… But as soon as the scheduled archive process was done the icons popped up.

Also…

Hurry up translators! According to the new translation server Swedish is currently the only language at 100% :)-D (except for English obviously).

Where does the transitions plugin actually show? Like I’ve got it activated but I don’t see any extra menus or anything.

.

The latest, 1.9-b13 has been released !!! Please test as much as you can, we have only 2 days left before release!

Thank you to all testers
