Hi. The functionality of pausing a custom report is a really good functionality ant it would be nice to have it for segments. If you set “Archive reports when viewed from the browser” in general settings. Then go over to your segment and choose it not to be archived with CRON, then go over to “Archive reports when viewed from the browser” and disable the settings. Will this cause problems on archiving or will this solve my problem?
I think browser archiving in general isn’t recommended unless you have a really small amount of data to process. Is there a reason you don’t want a particular segment archived?
Hi. Im having really huge amounts of data and each segment is causing some performance issues on archiving. The thing is that we used to have segments configured in a certain way and now we want to do it in a new way while also being able to compare the sets.
My way of solving this actually works. And as long as no other users change the segment back to CRON im fine. So this is somewhat crappy solution but it works.
Interesting approach. We had a similar issue with large datasets and segments affecting archiving performance.
Pausing segments via CRON worked for us as well, as long as no one changes the segment config in between.
Not the cleanest solution, but practical.
