Organic Traffic Drop in Matomo – Tracking or Attribution Issue?

I’ve noticed a ~30% drop in organic traffic this quarter in Matomo, but Google Search Console looks fairly stable. No major site or tracking changes on our side.

Other channels (direct, referral) seem normal, which makes me wonder if this is an attribution issue rather than a real SEO decline.

Has anyone recently seen organic traffic being reclassified (e.g., into direct), or changes related to referrer data, bot filtering, or consent tracking?

Yes — total traffic is fairly stable. The issue is that organic is down ~30% vs. last quarter, but overall sessions haven’t dropped in the same proportion.

This is for my vape store, smokeycloudz, where SEO is a key channel. In Google Search Console, clicks and impressions look pretty steady, so it doesn’t seem like a real visibility drop.
