Now that Matomo version 5.0 has been released, how long will version 4 be supported. How long will the version 4 Long Term Support version be supported?

One thing I will add… we are on the version 4 Long Term Support version and it is still telling us that we have a version 5.0.0 update to apply. Should we be seeing that?

Hello!

  1. The “please update to 5” message can be silenced. Here is the flag in your file …/config/config.ini.php
; by default, an update notification for a new version of Matomo is shown to every user. Set to 1 if only
; the superusers should see the notification.
show_update_notification_to_superusers_only = 0
  1. Support I expect will follow the policy on our previous major version release: there will be 12 months of patching and bugfixes for Version 4 now that we have released Version 5. Also, if you prefer that no reminder email be sent, you can disable that also:

  1. Open your config/config.ini.php file
  2. Find this section of the config file:
    [General]
  3. Anywhere below General, add the following:
    enable_update_communication=0
