Need Help Setting Up Custom Dimensions in Matomo

Hello, I’m trying to track some custom data on my website using Matomo and would like to set up custom dimensions. I’ve read through the documentation, but I’m still unsure how to implement them correctly on my site.

Can someone guide me through the process of creating and applying custom dimensions for tracking specific user actions or attributes? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I’d recommend making sure your custom dimension is set up at the right scope (visit or action) in the admin settings—this affects how and when it gets tracked. For example, if you’re tracking user roles, you probably want a visit dimension.
