Is it possible to migrate existing analytics data from our WordPress plugin installation to your Cloud hosted solution?

Hi Steven. The migration process consists of two main steps:

  1. Migrate from WP to an empty on-premise instance using our guide here: https://matomo.org/faq/wordpress/how-do-i-migrate-all-my-data-from-matomo-for-wordpress-to-matomo-on-premise/
    Please note the the plugin mentioned in the guide above should be installed in the source instance, which is your WordPress instance in this case.

  2. Request a migration from the new on-premise instance to Cloud by completing the steps and form on this page: https://matomo.org/migrate-to-matomo-cloud/

I bring this topic back regarding Matomo Cloud

@Cloud I’ve got one question about migration to Matomo Cloud
Regarding the form, do we need to be super-user in order to find config files and copy paste on the form ?
Or if we are not super-user, is it possible to find the config files otherwise in order to be able ton validate the form ?

You don’t have to be a superuser in Matomo, but you’ll need access to the server where your Matomo on-premise setup is hosted. This is so you can find the config.ini file and copy the details from the [General] and [Tracker] sections.
