We got a message from cPanel that cPanel and WHM support for CentOS ends on 30 June 2024, so we need to upgrade from CentOS to AlmaLinux OS.

Here are my questions.

  1. Is Matomo fully supported in AlmaLinux?
  2. What would be the exact procedure of making sure that all of our Matomo data is transferred correctly to the new OS?What is complete setup for installing and configuring Matomo on this new OS. We want to migrate the old installation and database to the new OS.

I personally have no knowledge on CentOS / AlmaLinux OS.
The only thing I can say is that the data are stored in the MySQL database. Then your first job is the MySQL migration (I don’t know if there is some tutos about this somewhere in the web?).
The second step will be to install the Matomo files in the new server, just updating the database access settings (mainly Server IP if the data migration took also credentials into account).
At least maybe update the DNS configuration in order your tracking goes to the new Matomo server.
