I am currently running Matomo on a SharePoint modern/online page, which works. However, we are not receiving any media analytics data even though we have the media analytics plug-in regardless of whether there is a YouTube embed, iframe, etc.

Is there a way to get the media analytics plug in to report media data on a SharePoint page?

I am not sure Matomo can track the events happening in a frame, as browser would probably consider cross-frame JavaScript is a security breach…
