Hello there, do you think is it possible to jump to next mayor version from 3.14.0 to 4.6.2? 
Maybe a 3.14.0 to 4.0.0 is needed before? 
Maybe I need some more hops before 4.6.x ? 
In theory you should always be able to do all updates in one jump (as long as there is a PHP version that both Matomo versions are compatible with), but the risk of something going wrong might also increase the more minor versions you skip.
So if you want to, you can find any intermediate version at https://builds.matomo.org/ and update via them.

Looks like the safest/slowest way is to jump 
on each minor 
I’ve run all minor updates from 3.14.0 to 4.6.2 on a staging environment, it took me about an hour and a half to get things done, flawless.
