This is the first time I’m using Matomo, including the Tag Manager. I want to switch from GA4 to Matomo. First, I implemented the tags using Matomo Tag Manager so that the data shows up on Matomo dashboard. But when I compared it to the data in GA4, the numbers are much smaller.
After that, I decided to connect Matomo Analytics with Google Tag Manager, so I implemented the Matomo tags using Google Tag Manager. But this time, when I compared the numbers on Matomo dashboard, they’re all much bigger than the ones in GA4. It can be as twice or even three times bigger.
How can the data implemented using Matomo Tag Manager has smaller numbers but the one implemented using Google Tag Manager has bigger numbers? Does Matomo Tag Manager work differently from Google Tag Manager?
