Matomo on Wordpress

Dear community,

We are running a Woocommerce site hosted on WordpressDotCom and Matomo is a very nice tool for analytics. However, after installing the Matomo Wordpress Plugin, the Matomo UI (/wp-content/plugins/matomo/app/) is broken and it looks like parts of the CSS is missing:

In the developer console, I see 3 errors regarding the file manifest json. The first is a 404 on the file (see screenshot).

I already tried to fix the issue using this article. I also tried to start the UI using fresh wordpress users using different Matomo roles. Again no luck.

Do you have an idea on the root cause of the issue? I can provide access to our staging environment if needed.

Can you confirm the files have been well installed in your server? Sometimes, files are missing (then just copy them).
Another possible source of issue could be the right access to these files (access given to apache user or rights set in the .htaccess file)
