Matomo Login getting 500 Error

Hi everyone!

I can’t seem to login at all in my Matomo dashboard which is setup in a subfolder: https://www.domain.com/subfolder/index.php

I haven’t logged in this dashboard for a few weeks, and getting now 500 Error when trying to access it.

The server specs:

  • OS: Rocky Linux 8.10
  • Kernel: Linux 4.18.0-477.27.1.el8_8.x86_64 on x86_64
  • Webmin version 2.202
  • Virtualmin version 7.20.2
  • MariaDB version 11.2.3
  • DNS: Cloudflare

I’ve tried a few things such as below without success:

  • download latest Matomo script and overwrite existent one
  • cleared Cloudflare cache
  • upgraded to latest MariaDB version above fromn 10.3; when it was on 10.3 i was still getting 500 error

Any ideas what else I can do or what I am missing?

Following too, I am getting same error on a similar server : (

I had the same thing happened recently too when I upgraded my vps …

I suggest you have a look in the Matomo error log file…

I ended up moving the Matomo to a different server, and upgraded to latest version. I think it was something to do with MariaDB, i needed to get it back up live so this was quicker for me bcz i troubleshooted it for a while.

Now on a diff server, latest Matomo version, latest MariaDB version works fine.

I’ll dig in the application logs when I get the chance.
