Matomo ingesting site data

Hi,

What happens when Matomo ingest site data? The url enters the system, then what? What modules decode the url the data comes in, slice it up, and send it on its way to the database?

I’m looking for something that might have been corrupted that could be causing a 400 bad data message. The data may not be bad, but my instance seems not to be decoding the url sent to matomo.php.
