We are planning to do a small feasibility study to use Matomo SaaS solution plugged in to our BPM Tool(SaaS).
Need you advice on few pointers, please
What would be preferred method to connect Matomo with BPM tool keeping the data privacy intact ?
What kind of data Matomo ingest for its anlaytics ? ( Is it event log data or any other data )
Does the any log data ingested to Matomo contain any personal or PII data ?
The Reporting API would be the best way to retrieve the collected analytics data from Matomo, including processed reports and, where applicable, detailed visit and action information.
Matomo only collects the data that your implementation is configured to send. This may include:
Page views or screen views
Events and user interactions
URLs and page titles
Referrer and campaign information
Device and browser information
Approximate location derived from the visitor’s IP address
Custom dimensions, User IDs, or other custom values configured in your tracking
Matomo does not automatically prevent personal information from being included. If your tracking implementation sends personal or personally identifiable information, that information may be stored in Matomo.
To minimize the collection of personal data, Matomo provides privacy features such as:
IP address anonymization
User ID anonymization
URL query parameter exclusion
Data retention controls
The GDPR tools for locating and deleting previously collected data
