Looking for a reliable Moodle plug in/way to implement matomo in Moodle - with tag manager?

Hello!

We have just set up our online courses in Moodle and would love to be able to use Matomo (and in particular the tag manager) on our Moodle site. We’re already familiar with Matomo, but not how it interacts with Matomo or how we could add it? I’ve seen a few plug-ins but not sure which is best to use or if we can just add the tracking code without the plug in?

Very lost, so any advice much appreciated!

I don’t have an account with Moodle but from what I have found on the web

  1. Go to:
    Site administration → Appearance → Additional HTML
  2. Paste the Matomo Tag Manager container snippet into:

    • Within HEAD (recommended), or

    • Before BODY is closed

Can you try that and let us know how you get on?
