Is it possible to log visits to file and then have an early cron job be run each day at, let’s say 3 am, (even if it takes 4 hours to complete) so we can have daily stats like awstats?
Going live is not an option as our tests crashed the server with high load after 3-4 hours of visits.

but i’m not sure about performance, you can check it out and submit improvements.
