I’m very new to Matomo so apologies if this is a really stupid question.
We have Matomo cloud and I would like to be able to link up to Data Studio to build reports. I have found instructions that tell me to create a MySQL connector in Data Studio but this is where I get stuck. The connector asks for the following but I have no idea where I would find the hostname, IP or database.
Hostname or IP
Port (optional)
Database
Username
Password
Any help with this (even if it’s as simple as this isn’t possible with Matamo cloud) would be much appreciated.
since we missed an easy way to connect matomo with Google Data Studio, we developed a connector.
You can find the connector at the official partner connectors from Google Data studio: https://datastudio.google.com/data?search=matomo
What I don’t get from your website is how your service works.
Does the Google Server connect directly to the Matomo API or are any servers provided by you involved?
If the latter, I think your privacy policy should make this very clear and also explain in details which data you are able to access, who is able to access this data (e.g. subprocessors) and how you are handling/securing it.
we’ve updated our Website and privacy policy to make clear how the service works and how the data is processed - thanks for your feedback.
In short: We get the data from the Matomo API directly in the Data Studio Connector Script. If caching is activated we use a google service to save the data for max 2 hours. When caching is activated there is no other service other than data studio involved
If you have any further questions don’t hesitate to ask.
