"Keyword not defined" or not?

Hi,

I understand that the “Keyword not defined” is a problem coming from the search engine not giving away the keywords used (as described in the doc. I understand also there’s an optional Premium plugin Search Keywords Performance Monitor, that allows to get the information from the Webmaster tools.

What I don’t understant is why I get some keywords ? Are the search engine letting go through some keywords ? on which conditions ?

Hi,

That’s a good question. I have also noticed this on my websites. One reason is definitely that there are other search engines than google that don’t hide their referrer.
But I also notice that there are really few cases where a referrer in the style of http://google.com/search?q=search+keyword is detected and I have no explanation for it.
