Ip address accuracy?

Hi

Does anyone elese feeling like the ip adress locations are misleading in Piwik? When I do cross comparison to site like “https://www.whatismyip.com/tools/ip-address-lookup.asp”, it looks like the accuracy of either Piwik is wrong or whatusmyip.com is wrong.

For example Piwik says it is US and I do cross comparison it says the Ip is from Turkey.

Any thoughts?

then you can visit this site also to check the Ip address http://www.ip-details.com/ .you can find your ip address ,location ,latitude,longitude etc through this site for free.usually i used to check the ip address through this site only.hope it helps you.check this.

Sites which offer free reverse IP lookups are subject to old data. I’m sure even the site which Piwik uses is subject to this as well. The lists are bought from IP companies and are generally NOT up to date for privacy reasons. But generally they are accurate to a degree. All depends on how old their list is.
