Install password error

I have the latest version of piwik. After uploading to server and trying to run installation process Piwik reports cannot connect to database with password ‘Yes’. I have entered in my password to be used (same one as I use to login to phpmyadmin for this database) and piwik reports cannot connect with password ‘YES’. The install procedure appears to be ignoring the password I have entered into the password box. How do I get through this install step?

What is going on here?

Hi Jimfre,

make sure that you’re using the correct password for the corresponding database.
Usually there is a user assigned to each database.

Afaik MySQL stores user passwords case sensitive.
Check also if your password is really Yes or maybe yes.

Hope that helps.

Thank you. The user text box on this install screen is not referring to my phpmyadmin login username, but the actual database user. I changed the info accordingly and indeed I got through this step successfully. WHew!

Thanks again!
