We run Meta Ads for our clients and want to analyze the performance using Matomo.
However, we’re noticing a significant discrepancy in the reported numbers for a campaign — 160 purchases in Meta vs. only 11 in Matomo.
The page linked in the ad uses UTM parameters, and the click numbers on this URL match the data in Meta.
Our total sales during that time period have been fully tracked in Matomo as well.
We suspect that purchases did not always occur during the initial visit via the UTM-tagged link, and that on return visits, the campaign was no longer credited for the purchase.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any option in the documentation to attribute conversions to a campaign across multiple visits.
Is there a way to ensure that all purchases made by a user within a certain time frame (e.g., 7 days after the initial campaign visit) are still attributed to the campaign?
