Hello Piwik-Experts,

we are currently trying out Piwik for a larger non-ecommerce website. Our current aim is to improve user registrations on our site. We have successfully setup Piwik goal-tracking and identified possible spots for improvement.

Now we want to rank the performance of different new versions of our landing page. What are best practices for doing this with Piwik? My initial idea was to track the version of the landing page in a user variable but I’m unsure if that is needlessly complicated.

Tracking the page version as a custom variable sounds like a good idea, because then you will be able to see conversion rate for each custom variable (ie. for each version of your page). Custom Variables Analytics - Analytics Platform - Matomo
