How to Create Percentage-Based Reports in Matomo

Hi Matomo Community,

I’m working with Matomo On-Premise v5, and we’ve already set up the Custom Reports plugin and Custom Dimensions (for client and subscriber IDs).

At the moment, I have successfully created these reports through segments:

  1. Number of subscribers per client

  2. Number of subscribers who played an episode per client

What I want to achieve is percentage-based reports, for example:

  • Per Client, per Episode – the percentage of subscribers who listened to that episode (which I probably found in the media analytics reports)

  • Per Client (across all episodes, within a date range) – the percentage of subscribers who listened to at least one episode

  • Across all Clients – the percentage of subscribers who listened to episodes across all clients

I’ve noticed that Media Analytics reports already display some percentage metrics, but I’m not sure how to configure similar percentages in Custom Reports.

My questions:

  1. Is it possible to create these percentage metrics directly in Matomo On-Premise (using Custom Reports + Custom Dimensions)?

  2. If yes, how should I configure it?

  3. Are there any guides or documentation that explain how to add calculated percentage metrics in custom reports?
