How the visits over time graph section works

Hi,

I have exported this widget to CSV and have been looking at the unique visitors for each week.

I can’t quite tell if uniqueness is measured per week or from the beginning.

E.G. does the same IP address get re-counted from one week to another or gets ignored if ever seen again.

Showing it this way:

Week 1

1.1.1.1
2.2.2.2

Week 2

1.1.1.1
2.2.2.2

Would Week 2 say 0 IP addresses (as they are not unique, because of remembering the IP addresses of Week 1). or would Week 2 say 2 IP addresses (as the IP addresses of Week 1 have been forgotten)?
