How is handle the storage of geolocation databases?

I am using Matomo in a Docker Container Service (AWS Fargate)

I was wondering if the geolocation database are use as file or are stored into the mysql database.

Hi,

The geolocation database is stored as a file in the misc/ directory.

In case it helps you, other things that might be stored as files (that I can think of at the moment) are the custom logo (also in misc), installed plugins and tag manger JS files.
And of course everything in tmp/
