I have got Piwik downloaded & running fine. I want to track when a user clicks on an affiliate link and what search engine and keyword they used. I tried to set up a Goal, because it looks like this would be the best way to handle an affiliate link in PPC (i.e. a link that does not go to my webpage.) I just can’t seem to get this working and hope somebody can help.
Thanks
UPDATE:
I had Hostgator ‘white list’ the domain per another posting here, but it still doesn’t work.
Thanks for the link. It’s still a bit confusing. Is the Goals section the right one to be trying to set up an affiliate link?
Say I have the following affiliate link which resides on a web page I have no control over.
12345.67890 being my affiliate id number. What information do I need to put in the URL to collect click information on a PPC campaign (Google, Yahoo, Bing) that can be processed by Piwik. I would like to collect which search engine, the keyword that triggered my ad to be shown, and match type information (broad, phrase, exact.) Much like Google Analytics does.

Bump.
Anyone know how I can do this? I have read the instructions, but don’t understand.
This URL format is not very helpful, it would be better to have named parameter (eg. partner=YOUR_ID).
You could then use campaign tracking as briefly explained in: http://dev.piwik.org/trac/ticket/604
