Goal Converting Too Many Times, AKA: More Than Once

Hey peeps, I have a situation where my goal thank_you.php page works/converts fine (reports the goal) but the problem is somehow the visitor somehow revisits the page again a day later, 1 week later etc (maybe from the history in thier browser, or maybe from keeping the tab open in the browser) so later it reports it as another goal conversion. I really can only have a conversion once, so my goal reporting is skewed all the time.

I can’t figure out how they are doing this, any advice? I need to prevent it from ever showing up again as a goal conversion after the first ‘Goal Conversion’.

It is not yet possible to restrict a goal to be converted once per visitor.

This would be an interesting feature though, maybe you want to create a feature request in our tracker: Issues · matomo-org/piwik · GitHub
