External Websites - visit counting

Hello Everyone & Piwik Team!

I have a question about visitor counting.

If i have 6 links on reddit pointing to our blog posts, and Piwik says today (the first day with the 6 new links)
we have 38 visitors from Reddit.

I say awesome, after that, one of my collegaue says, he clicked the reddit links nearly 10 times… :frowning:

The question comes from this. How exactly the visitor counting works from external websites?

How many times count Piwik the same visitior when he clicks one or more time on the same external link pointing to our website?

I checked general questions / FAQ about it, but i don’t find any answer to this.

The question comes from this. How exactly the visitor counting works from external websites?

Each visit has one referrer, so even if a visitor clicks 10 times it is only counted once as a referrer.
