I have an Excel file from the Behaviour>Events section when I do the export of the table there. I’m wondering what the meaning of each column is in there because I have visits, Unique visits, Events, etc., which sound a bit too generic and my team does not know how to correlate this information. If possible, can somebody detail what is exactly the meaning of those columns and what they suggest, and how they work?
Thank you!
Hi, sure
For instance, I receive these columns when I extract the table that I need some clarification because I got a question from the business team about their meaning.
Total number of events (ie pages views, custom events, etc.)
Unique visitors
The number of unduplicated visitors coming to your website. Every user is only counted once, even if they visit the website multiple times a day.
Visits
If a visitor comes to your website for the first time or if they visit a page more than 30 minutes after their last page view, this will be recorded as a new visit.
Hi, I have another question! What is the reason why of unique visitors count is greater than the count of visits? Sometimes is the other way around. Is it okay to be like that?
While I was testing an event I was using different browsers. Maybe this can be a reason to have such odd results.
The ‘Visits’ column represents total user sessions, while ‘Unique Visits’ counts distinct users visiting once. ‘Events’ tracks specific interactions within those sessions. Understanding these helps correlate user engagement with specific actions on your site.
