Evaluating Piwik for application use audit

Hi all,

First of all, thank you for your time answering my question.

We at our company have a web based application developed in java. We want to audit the use of the application made by our users. So we need to know when, who and what page is used. Thus, we will be able to know the real use of our application and use this information to focus our development in most used and valuable areas (Why to maintain a form that is never used?) or to know who must we alert about a change.

The requisites: A free, open-source application. Information stored in-house.
So after consulting some colleages, they recommended me Piwic.

I see that I can change the URL for any string I want so, I can name the parts of my application easely. But I don’t know If I can also attach the user login to the information.

I don’t care about the country, language or other parts of the analysis, only the form name (= URL) and the user login.

As experts, Do you consider that Piwic fits my requirements?

Again, Thanks a lot!

Regards,

Jose

You can use Custom Variables for storing additional custom data about Users, or Actions: Custom Variables Analytics - Analytics Platform - Matomo

There are so many features you could use that would be useful. Good luck!

If you need an Audit Trail / Audit log, please check out our latest plugin: http://plugins.piwik.org/ActivityLog
